چکیده

Let Ω ⊂ R, n ≥ 3, be a smooth bounded domain and consider a coupled system in Ω consisting of a conductivity equation ∇ · γ(x)∇u(t, x) = 0 and an anisotropic heat equation κ(x)∂tψ(t, x) = ∇ · (A(x)∇ψ(t, x)) + (γ∇u(t, x)) · ∇u(t, x), t ≥ 0. It is shown that the coefficients γ, κ and A = (ajk) are uniquely determined from the knowledge of the boundary map u|∂Ω 7→ ν ·A∇ψ|∂Ω, where ν is the unit outer normal to ∂Ω. The coupled system models the following physical phenomenon. Given a fixed voltage distribution, maintained on the boundary ∂Ω, an electric current distribution appears inside Ω. The current in turn acts as a source of heat inside Ω, and the heat flows out of the body through the boundary. The boundary measurements above then correspond to the map taking a voltage distribution on the boundary to the resulting heat flow through the boundary. The presented mathematical results suggest a new hybrid diffuse imaging modality combining electrical prospecting and heat transfer-based probing.

A numerical finite difference study has been earned out for two dimensional radiation-natural convection interaction phenomena in a vertical circular pin located at a non-participating (i.e. transparent) fluid. The coupled conservation equations in boundary layer (continuity, momentum, and energy equations) and pin energy equation are solved simultaneously using modified box method and fully im...

Unsteady Heat and Mass Transfer Near the Stagnation-point on a Vertical Permeable Surface: a Comprehensive Report of Dual Solutions

In this paper, the problem of unsteady mixed convection boundary layer flow of a viscous incompressible fluid near the stagnation-point on a vertical permeable plate with both cases of prescribed wall temperature and prescribed wall heat flux is investigated numerically. Here, both assisting and opposing buoyancy forces are considered and studied. The non-linear coupled partial differential equ...

Numerical Study of Coupled Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer in a Rectangular Domain at Moderate Reynolds Numbers using the Control Volume ‎Method

In this paper, we have used a control volume method to investigate the problem of a fully coupled fluid flow with heat transfer in a rectangular domain with slip wall boundary conditions. We have used this method to solve the governing equations and thereby to compute the convective and diffusive fluxes at the cell faces of the control volumes considered around the grid points of computational ...

Effects of Some Thermo-Physical Parameters on Free Convective Heat and Mass Transfer over Vertical Stretching Surface at Absolute Zero

Effects of some thermo-physical parameters on free convective heat and mass transfer over a vertical stretching surface at lowest level of heat energy in the presence of suction is investigated. The viscosity of the fluid is assumed to vary as a linear function of temperature and thermal conductivity is assumed constant. A similarity transformation is applied to reduce the governing equations i...
